Humidity indicator cards, also known as humidity cards or moisture-proof labels, are used to display the humidity status within sealed environments. They serve as an environmental measurement tool to assess whether the relative humidity in enclosed packaging is safe. The percentage data above or beside the circle corresponds to the relative humidity indicated by that circle.

Many high-end electronic components, precision optical parts, and similar products are susceptible to moisture, which can lead to corrosion, reduced sensitivity, and even irreversible damage. To protect against moisture-related issues, most products utilize moisture-resistant packaging during the final stages of production. Humidity indicator cards provide a convenient and cost-effective way to monitor whether humidity levels remain within a controlled range. When a sealed bag is opened, the color change on the humidity card indicates the current humidity level, serving as a reference for ensuring it falls within the specified range. Additionally, these cards can indirectly reflect the effectiveness of the desiccants used in the sealed packaging.

Cobalt Humidity Indicator Cards (Non-Compliant with EU Standards, Not Environmentally Friendly):

These cards provide a visual indication of humidity levels through color changes. The principle is based on the color transformation of cobalt chloride upon moisture absorption: [Co(H₂O)₄Cl₂] is blue, while [Co(H₂O)₆]²⁺ is pink. When dry, the humidity card appears blue; if the color within the circle shifts from blue to pink, it indicates that the humidity inside the packaging has reached or exceeded the corresponding relative humidity value indicated by the circle.

Cobalt-Free Humidity Indicator Cards:

These cards do not contain cobalt dichloride, making them a safe and environmentally friendly option. They offer a convenient and cost-effective way to assess environmental humidity. Users can quickly determine the humidity levels and the effectiveness of desiccants within the packaging by observing the color on the card. If the humidity inside the packaging meets or exceeds a certain value, the corresponding point on the card will change from a dry color to a moisture-absorbing color, providing an easy way to gauge the performance of the desiccant.

Usage Instructions
Step 1: Place the products to be stored into a sealed container.
Step 2: Add the desiccant and the humidity indicator card into the packaging container.
Step 3: Seal the container tightly.
Step 4: When the color of the dot on the humidity indicator card changes, promptly replace the desiccant.
